[DEV PREVIEW] Arousal Gels & Creams
Arousal gels and creams are topical products designed to wake up the senses — a small dab applied to the right spot increases blood flow and sensitivity, often adding a pleasant warming or tingling feeling. They’re a simple, inexpensive way to add a little extra spark, and applying one for your spouse can be a fun, intimate part of foreplay in itself.
What they actually do
Most of these products gently stimulate the area they’re applied to, drawing blood flow to it so that touch feels more intense. Some are made for a woman’s clitoral area to heighten arousal; others produce a warming or cooling-tingling sensation you can enjoy in various places. They’re different from lubricant — think of them as a sensation booster rather than a glide — though some products do both.
How to use them
Less is more. Start with a very small dab on the target spot, give it a minute to build, and add a little more only if you’d like. Having your spouse apply it, slowly, makes it part of the fun rather than a pit stop. And because sensations build over a minute or two, there’s no need to rush.
Test first, and skip the numbing kind
Everyone’s skin is different, so patch-test a new product on the inner arm before using it somewhere sensitive, and keep warming or tingling gels well away from the eyes. One important note: we recommend steering clear of desensitizing (numbing) products — pain is your body’s signal that something isn’t right, and numbing it hides that. A quick prayer together beforehand keeps God at the center of your marriage, right where He belongs.
A couple of practical notes
- Read the ingredients — if either of you is prone to irritation, avoid products with lots of sugar-derived or harsh ingredients.
- These can transfer — a warming gel applied to her may tingle him too, which can be part of the fun or a surprise, so start small.
What it does for your marriage
A little novelty goes a long way. An arousal gel is an easy, playful way to heighten sensation and try something new together — and the shared ritual of applying it is a lovely bit of foreplay all on its own.
Arousal gels, warming creams, and more are available at our sister store, Romantic Blessings.
